Dusk Blade spells

So I recently picked up the PHBII and was looking at the duskblade, thinking I might want to try it out in our next campaign coming up. The question I have is having to do with its spell list. I the text is says refer to page whatever for the duskblade spell list, but in the example characters I noticed that their spell list included spells not on that list.

So, can Duskblades pick up any spell on the sorc/wizard spell list, or what? I don't get it. I'm my missing something?

Also, the duskblade doesn't have a 0 level spell list. ???

The duskblade spell list is in the class section near the end. The refercence to page 94 (or whatever) only has the new PHB 2 spells.

hmmm, that may explain that. I'll take a look at it again when I get home. stupid work getting in the way of my hobby.

Yeah, the reference is an error. The actual full spell list is at the end of the class section itself, not later in the book with the new spells.

Prepare to be undewhelmed.

For my Wife's First Try at DM'ing a Duskblade.

If you have a Int mod of at least +2, you will Know more 0 Level Spells than what is ON YOUR SPELL LIST.

Minor annoyance.

This has to be the worst editing snafu in any WotC book. I must have seen a dozen queries like this on various boards.

The spell list is on page 24 at the end of the class description. I love the class. It meets all that I want out of a fighter mage. Though if I really want power, there are other ways to go.

Yeah, this is a good class. As for knowing more 0-level spells than possible, I don't consider it an issue. Who really casts 0-level spells anyway except for fun?

And ... one day a thread like this will just become stickied to the top of this thread. Because I guarantee that within two weeks another poster will ask this same question! [Not trying to be rude to the original poster, of course. Just declaring that this question gets asked alot! ]

I asked this question. It didn't get its own thread, but I asked it.


And my only complaint about the Duskblade is that it throws my one home-made PrC out of balance. I'm thinking of re-doing the prerequisites so that the Duskblade can't get into this PrC at 4th level (!) like he can now.
