Always had a problem with these three. Here's my take. Formatted versions at http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/hosted/Dusk/index.php?file=feats.php Dodge [General, Fighter] You are adept at dodging blows. Prerequisite: DEX 13+ Benefit: During your action, you designate an opponent and receive a +1 dodge bonus to Armor Class against attacks from that opponent. You can select a new opponent at any time you could take a 5’ step. If you are fighting defensively the +1 dodge bonus applies to all foes fighting you, though you still must select one opponent for any feat for which dodge is a prerequisite. If you go on total defense you gain a +2 dodge bonus to your Armor Class against all opponents instead of a +1. Remember that dodge bonuses stack and any condition that causes you to lose your dexterity adjustment to armor class also causes the loss of dodge bonuses. Note: Dodge is considered one of the weaker feats in the game though it is the prerequisite of many prestige classes and more powerful feats so making it a powerful feat could unbalance the game. The above change makes the dodge feat somewhat more useful, particularly when the character only desires to avoid getting hit. Other feats are included in this chapter that make the chosen opponent feature of the feat more significant. Skill Focus [General] Choose a skill, such as move silently. You have a special knack with that skill. Benefit: You gain a +3 bonus on all skill checks with that skill. Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take this feat it applies to a new skill. Note: Several feats in the PHB, this supplement and in others grant a +2 bonus to two predetermined skills. Having only a +2 bonus come from skill focus is therefore unnecessarily weak – hence the increase to +3 suggested in this manual. Toughness [General] You are tougher than normal. Prerequisite: CON 13+. Benefit: You gain +1 hit point per level Note: This feat is too useful at low levels and too weak at high levels. The scaling change above fixes this problem. This version of the feat cannot be taken more than once.
