I think a few different threads got crossed, which might have resulted in this confusion. First, let me be the first to apologize that we didn't get FCTF-Modern out faster. The conversion process turned into a revision and conversion process, where we fixed a few numbers to balance things out, patched a few holes, and added in a few new bits because they were cool ideas. Russ and I, way back in October last year, did discuss putting up a free .doc or .rtf file update with the revisions to d20 Modern, but once we realized how pervasive the changes would be, and how much we wanted to tweak some of the problems of the original, we decided to just go for a full new edition, which would be easier to read and more satisfying overall. Now, for The Elements of Magic, we will be giving out the rules revisions for free, minus all of the cool flavor and GM advice. This has been mentioned several times, so perhaps someone confused the two revisions. We've had the actual text done for a few months now, but other products took priority for actual layout. A few people who swung by the E.N. Publishing forum and asked what was up got a raw text file with the revised OGC, hardly easy to read, which was the best I could do since I have no Adobe Acrobat skills. But now that Jake has finished the daunting task of laying out all 140-odd pages, I'm sure you'll enjoy the book. I'll be honest, there's nothing really flashy that's been added. The original ruleset was detailed enough that we didn't have to invent too much new stuff. But if you don't own the book at all, getting the modern and fantasy rules in one package is a steal. If you're been playing a d20 modern supers game with the stopgap fantasy supers rules, the reduced price we'll offer will likewise make the revisions a steal. If all you do is use the rules in D&D, and just want the balanced new costs, though, honestly, just email me and I'll send along the revised list of power costs. Actually, Jake, what do you think about putting up the revised power cost table on the website as a freebie? It might attract some more attention to the revision.
