[e-Tools] Human Fighters and Mounted Combat

What? Me Worry?
I posted about this over at Fluid's boards, but the only response I've gotten indicates that the person isn't haveing this trouble.

When I create a human fighter with e-Tools, and give the character ranks in the Ride skill, the program never makes the Mounted Combat feat available. It becomes available for non-human characters, just not humans. I've tried creating human fighters of different levels and ones that have various combinations of skills (such as Ride/Handle Animal) - still no luck.

Any thoughts?

Hey Colonel,

I have the same problem, too. While I don't know what causes it, it's not that hard to get around.

1) Select your ranks in ride
2) Switch to the feat screen
3) Uncheck and check "Feat Prerequisites Enabled"

Combat Reflexes should be selectable.

Ah, yes, that would do the trick.

But - I just got an update to IE 6 (I just upgraded to 6 the other day, and I'm still downloading updates to it), and now it seems to be working fine even with the prereqs enabled.
 

Hmm, thats odd. I have IE6 and all of the updates and it was still doing it.

The fact that the feat becomes available after unchecking and immediately rechecking the "Prereq" box makes me think that somewhere in the code, they forgot to check skill prerequisites. Clicking the "Prereqs Enabled" forces it to recheck the requirements for Mounted Combat and then it realizes they've been met.

Oh well, it works ... I can live with minor glitches like that.

Hmm I havent tried to get the problem to come up yet. But I wonder if maybe giving the char the skills then saving the char and restarting the program then checking to see if the feat is available would work? Im not able to try it now so I dont know. Was just a thought.
 

As noted by a previous poster, it's much easier to uncheck and recheck "Feat Prerequisites Enabled" to do the same thing. It forces the app to re-calculate which feats are available.
