Round 2 [sblock=Combat Recap]Yinopu's Vigil Nars and Rodimus take the lead stepping into the threshold to check the area above the short step for traps. Percy and Gorefoot are just outside the room and Nezrak and Ishmael are standing back from the doors with Norvne. As the two in the lead step forward and begin the search a voice rings out across the room, in a language no one understands. It appears to have issued from the jackal statue, which on second glance no longer looks like a statue at all. The jackal stands on its pedastle and shouts something else. At that moment the figurines scattered about the table on the left seem to take wing and begin flying towards Rodimus. At the same time from a number of hidden recesses in the northern wall a swarm of bats issues forth. The bats have unnaturally long fangs and little tiny horns, their eyes glow a malevolent green. Just as you are about to charge in, the jackal speaks again, casting a spell. Darkness enshrouds everything dowsing the light from Percy's spell and any remaining torches or sunrods. Rodimus and Nars in front can see a little ways in the 'shadowy darkness' with their keen night eyes. The swarms of figurines and bats decend on them. Init: Yinopu Percy Rodimus Gorefoot Shawabti Swarm Bat Swarm Nars Ishmael Nezrak[/sblock] [Round 2] Percy screams and tries to summon light in the unending blackness, but her spell fizzles unable to overcome the unnatural shadows. Rodimus lashes out with his fists at the figurines and connects with a few, several of them fall at his feet, but more overwhelm him. He is able to fight down the nausiating influence of the swarm. Gorefoot moves back to protect Percy allowing Ishmael to move forward. The swarm around Rodimus buffets against the half-orc inflicting minimal damage. Rodimus feels the tiny sharp angles of the figurines inject something into his skin, but his strong fortitude prevents further injury. The bats batter Nars, their tiny claws digging past armor and flesh. Several tiny cuts begin to take their toll on the dwarf. The bat's green eyes glow dully in the shadowy illumination. Nars tries to swing Felhunter at the bats, but fails to inflict any real losses to the swarm. Sickened by the movement of the bats around him, Nars is nauseated for a few moments. Ishmael with his supernatural vision is able to see that only Rodimus has been able to deal significant damage to either type of creature swarming around his companions. From the rear, Nezrak asks what is happening. He then moves past his companions to join Ishmael just outside the room. Shuffling through his massive number of scrolls he retrieves on that will help next round. [sblock=OOC]Percy moves back. Fails to cast light (darkness counters light) Rodimus attacks and hits.
9 dmg
Fort save vs. nausea made. Gorefoot moves back with Percy. Shawabti Swarm hits Rodimus - 1 dmg. Fort save vs Poison made. Bat Swarm hits Nars - 9 dmg. Nars - fort save vs. nausea fails. No damage vs. diminutive swarm. Ishmael - moves forward and takes stalk of situation (delay, jump in any time). Nezrak - moves forward and retrieves scroll of burning hands.[/sblock]
