Vanity Evolved
First Post
So! Hi. =3 My name is Paul, 21, good for nothing student with -way- too much time on his hands and too much of a love for pen and paper RPG games. I've read tons, and got a bunch of ideas, but sadly, not really found any games to play in.
I've got a good few systems, ranging from Dungeons and Dragons (3.x through to 4e), oWoD through to nWoD, Exalted through to 7th Sea, through to Heavy Gear and GURPS... Got a whole bunch of systems and books lying around my bookshelf and computer.
I've got a bunch of stuff in mind that I'd like to play; but in general I love my low beginning peasant with a rusty knife building to epic hero, I love my cutesy, over the top fantasy film romance and I love mechanics. I'm open to learning new systems and ideas other than these, these are just things currently playing on my mind.
I do love the inclusion of adult and mature themes, also; this is not to say it has to be steamy-sex and hot showers, but I like my games to be real. Violence and sex are real.
Dragons of the Caribbean - Heh, ignore the lame title; but something along the lines of the Pirates trilogy would be amazing. Something along the lines of a Jack Sparrow, Will Turner hybrid storyline... Above average stats guy in mundane job who wakes amnesic on a island or works in a port town, somehow getting into piracy, building up from newbie scallywag to pirate of legend. Blackpowder, ships and swashbuckling! Argg! Most likely done best with D&D.
Dungeons and Daisho - Once again, another lame title. =P See the above, but replace with either Feudal or Meiji Japan, demons, ogres, iaijutsu and anime-styled plotline. ;D
Heresy grows from Idleness - Not Warhammer, but close. After watching Van Helsing and re-reading Hunter, I was reminded of my love for the demon and undead hunting, leather trenchcoat and hat, crossbow and sword swinging witch-hunter style character. Probably some kind of gestalt Rogue/Cleric, in the case of D&D 3.x.
Zombies! - Generic survival horror, normal civilian with makeshift weapons, surviving day to day and fighting back against undead cannibals. <3 George A. Romero.
Exalted - Would love to try out a Solar in this... possibly mortal to Solar, and I'm a huge Solar/Lunar fanboy...
Supernatural - See my witch-hunter idea. =P Replace with modern day, possibly psionics, hunting weird creatures with little more than a fireaxe and a Wikipedia article of mythology... I do love Sam and Dean. =P
And also... something like Buffy Done Right. =P Highschool kids with their usual problems, the usual stereotype cheerleaders, schoolgirls, jocks (be it American, or Japanese styled) suddenly sucked into the supernatural, kinda' something like Silent Hill. Obviously, I was thinking along the lines of nWoD.
So, if you're interested, drop me an PM or something. =)
