I have posted for help with my character before (Changeling Ro/Cl/Shadowbane Stalker Rolplaying and mechanics) and now I am looking at designing the writeup for the variant sect. I would like help on the sect name, descriptions, wording, explanations, information from knowledge checks or anything else that might be helpful in improving or fleshing it out. Lend me your creative juices EnWorlders... (And yes I know that there is a organization in the Forgotten Realms called the Black Flame. I realized that after I decided on the name.) I realize that what I have is rough, but it is a start. Thanks ;) [sblock]Brotherhood of the Black Flame (Variant Sect of the Silver Flame as modeled by the PgtE pg. 29 precedent.) Predominant Alignment: Lawful Good Domains: Law, Inquisition (CD), Shadow (ECS), Trickery, Truth (RoE) Associated Classes: This Brotherhood comprises of many rogues, clerics and other stealthy and divine types. Many of the Brotherhood may find themselves leaning towards following prestige classes: Black Flame Zealot (CD – Modified), Consecrated Harrier (CD), Shadowbane Stalker (Cadv), Shadowbane Inquisitor (CAdv), Spy Master (Cadv), Temple Raider of Olidimara (CD – Modified), or even the Exalted Prestige Classes: Slayer of Domiel (BoED) and Stalker of Kharash (BoED). General Description The Brotherhood is the sect whose name is not spoken as they deal with their foes in ways that normal Flamites would not think of – via stealth, subterfuge and guile instead of the straight forward confrontational style normally attributed to those faithful to the Flame. Their existence is known by the higher echelon of the Flame but most will have never have even heard a rumor of their existence. This order is comprised of those who find that in order to fight corruption, deception, and betrayal that you must also be good at it yourself and be faithful to the Flame. You must fight fire with fire. Those who are turned over for justice via a Black Flame agent will most often never know who it was that turned them in. Agents of this sect of the Flame never identify themselves as agents of the Flame unless that would be to their extreme benefit. The Brotherhood is charged with hunting down corruption where it lies in the darkness. The Brotherhood is a reason those corrupted that find the darkness their home should be uncomfortable. They surreptitiously search for corruption and work towards the flames goals in the quiet and cover of darkness and misdirection. The Brotherhood operates as many isolated cells that and are on a need to know basis. Even the upper echelon have no idea how many cells or members there are or at what level in the hierarchy they are. The next lower level are give their order and it gets done. New agents are recruited by recommendations by individual agents who are then tested and screened and then tested some more, and eventually inducted. This sect may find the most Changeling and non-good members than any other Flamite sect as this sort of work and idea does not appeal to the typical Flamite mass morality. However, even here, non-good cells are typically rogue and unknowingly work for rogue agents. Agents that betray the Brotherhood are hunted down and killed for their betrayal.[/sblock]
