Ok, for my future Greyhawk campaign, I'm thinking of adding some of the latest racial creations of WotC to the setting of Greyhawk, along with some others: -Warforged -Elan or Kalashtar -Beast-Kin (essentially a highly variable and customisable race of animal-human hybrids.. Yes, Furries.) Now, I'm also fast-forwarding the timeframe to about 50-100 years down the line, so I can introduce various other developments, such as Clockpunk and Steampunk technology, along with a twist I call "The Children of Iuz." Now, I have some ideas as to how to introduce the various races: The Elan or Kalashtar, I'd give an origin connected to an article from way back in Dragon #281: The Talaire, a race of psionic humans from another plane of existance long ruined by the Illithids, and now migrated to other worlds where they build homes for themselves and wage a war against the Mind Flayers. Now, for the other races.. Who on Oerth would be most likely to build Warforged? My best idea so far is having a group of Gnomes and Humans spark a "Technomagic/Clockpunk" revolution, with Warforged being one of their creations. For the Beast-Kin/Furries, my best idea was for them to be exiles from another Prime plane, fleeing a terrible enemy and bringing with them some new tricks, like Mecha technology from DragonMech... So, any opinions or alternate suggestions?
