Message: <blockquote data-quote="Painfully" data-source="post: 1583580" data-attributes="member: 601">I, and a few of the lucky folks at my FLGS, had the chance to get their grubby hands on a preview copy of Eberron today (as well as ALL of the new Giants of Legend minis).  No, it wasn't for sale--street date is around the 18th.The artwork in the book has a very clean look to it.  Much of the artwork is in the style of a graphic novel comic book, and has a much bolder contrast than typical of past WotC books.  It has a matt finish to the cover, with some glossy parts on the front cover, giving it a very nice "new" look, but I think a full glossy cover would be more durable.   On the downside, no foldout map was included, and there is a customer comment card put into the binding of the book.  I hate that it cannot be removed completely--it will likely result in a permanent, unintentional bookmark.  It could have at least been placed after the index, but no, it is between two pages with text meant to be read continuously.  :\I didn't have the book long enough to "digest" any of the good parts, but there will be time for that in a couple of weeks from now.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=":)" title="Smile    :)"  data-smilie="1"data-shortname=":)" />As an aside, the Giants of Legend packs were impressive to me, and I'm not a big fan of the plastic minis.  I would easily pay $10 for some of the larger figs like the treant, or Behir, or others.  However, each pack comes with 1 big figure, and 8 small figures for $20.  I will probably restrict myself to one or two packs at most, and try to trade for the ones I like most.  They have improved several of the older figs.  Lidda, for instance, looks much better.  The minotaur is larger, and the orc actually looks like he wasn't cloned from the original "Planet of the Apes" movie.</blockquote>
