With his mother barely able to look after herself and no father figure, Jayco soon fell in with a band of bandits that attacked the caravan routes on the borders. Soon he abandonned his mother for a life of crime and lived in the hills with the theives of the band. The Band moved on to attacking teh local villages and exacting tolls and taxes of their own on the poor people of Droaam. It was on one such raid that Jayco had an experience that changed his life forever. The village of Hrundak was small and insignificant and execptionally poor. When they were unable to pay the Band's taxes, Jayco and his friends set fire to the village. Unknown to Jayco, his mother had been travelling from village to village loking for him and was currently staying in the Inn that he had just put to the torch. His mother's burning dying body came running, screaming out of the Inn towards Jacob, but the flames on her back suddenly took on a silvery light and Jayco heard the oice of the Flame. The voice simply said "My Son, find your destiny." Scared and confused Jayco did not know what to do. He slaughtered his companions and fled the angry townsfolk and headed for answers. Seeking to learn more about the Silver Flame he befriended a travelling monk who was returning to his home of Sharn following a pilgrimage to Thrane. The monk instructed Jayco in a precious few pieces of the laws and teachings of the Silver Flame before the rest of the Band caught up with Jayco and murdered his new mentor. Jayco faught valiantly and managed to escape with teh body of the Monk and carried it back to Sharn. However, Jayco has not found acceptance with the church in Sharn and has had to forge his own life in the city. Jayco was considering leaving when he stumbled upon a supernatural evil that was at work in Sharn. Teaming up with a Chatty gnome scholar he was able to follow the trail to a dolgaunt servant of the evil Daelkyr. Together with a hired bodyguard, whom Jayco has developed a lasting friendship, and a warforged artificer, hired for his knowledge of his kind following an unfortunate incident with a servant of the Lord of Blades, Jayco was able to uncover th identity of the Dolgaunt imposter and prevent it from causing further damage.
I've just finished leveling up my character to level 4, so I thought I'd post it here. I've never posted a character to this forum, so be gentle :). Jayco Beneth Within the last three decades of the Last War a weathly heiress of House Deneith, Heija Beneth-Deneith, at the age of just thirteen, visited the Temple of the Silver Flame in Thrane with her family. A headstrong and willful girl, Heija wandered off from her family and managed to gain access to the Chamber of teh Flame. What exactly transpired is known by no-one left alive, save for the Flame itself, but church wardens were summonned to the chamber to find Heija uncoscious on the floor infront of the flame. No one thought much of the incident, and it was largely forgotten by all but Heija herself, who now became withdrawn and appeared distracted. However, by the time the seasons changed, it was clear that Heija had become pregnant. Being largely atheistic and practical minded people, Heija's parents either refused to believe or simply did not put the two events together, and threw Heija out onto the streets for a harlot. Broken and driven insane by her days on the streets, Heija and her young son, Jayco eventually landed up in Droaam, where Jayco grew up amongst bad company. With his mother barely able to look after herself and no father figure, Jayco soon fell in with a band of bandits that attacked the caravan routes on the borders.
