Artificers use infusions, not spells. As such, spell failure does not apply. I'm not sure about when they use scrolls of arcane spells.

DMG P.238

"Using a scroll is like casting a spell for purposes of arcane spell failure chance (such as from armor)."

So Scroll usage DOES incur arcane spell failure.

Your right. But to be honest, I don't get the logic behind it. Arcane spell failure with scrolls means you fail unfolding the scroll or what? There are no other somatic components involved and you can't possibly gesture, while holding a piece of parchment in both hands. :uhoh:

Um ... to cast a spell from a scroll, you have to ... um ... origami! That's it! Part of the process is folding the scroll into a little paper animal, which is harder to do with gauntlets on!

I knew I'd think of something! :)

When an artificer makes their own scroll, they don't need to worry about ASF. If they find an arcane
scroll that someone else made and use it, then they do.

Infusions, as noted, don't have ASF.
