D&D General Eberron: What Existing Studio Would You Want To Make A Game (+)

Let us assume for fun that Eberron will get a AAA game from a known game studio.

And you get to pick. Who gets the job, and why? Bonus points for a specific 'team' like 'the team X that made Y'.

My personal pick is probably Ubisoft's assassin's Creed team, with creative imperitive to represent the species and classes and subclasses but not be beholden to trying to make it play like dnd mechanically.

Basically, I want an Eberron game that respects physical space amd movement, with a big and detailed world, and if i am playing a mobile character i want to run jump climb and parkour around. And i am more inclined to trust them to do airships than i am with, say, Arkane or Larian or the Dragon Age team.

I would also be excited abput any of them, or Obsidian, taking on the job.

Eberron already has two computer games to it's name:
  • Dragonshard (2005), an RTS.
  • D&D Online (DDO, 2006), an MMO. It's first name was Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, later it was renamed to Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited and when they added FR content it got it's current name DDO. What little I played of it, it was probably the best D&D MMO experience I ever had, adventures actually felt like adventures. Although I don't think I really played the Eberron content...

Neither really felt all that unique or what made Eberron slightly interesting for me, the magic trains/airships, the magic/steampunk like setting with 'robots' that decorated so much of the promotional material during the 3e launch.

So what kind of game would we want? It being D&D I would say, a RPG.

Going for the obvious BG3, getting Larian to make a BG3 like game of Eberron with the really iconic stuff would be interesting. But as Larian is not returning to D&D, it's an unrealistic idea.

If we were looking for a more isometric game like PF Kingmaker or Rogue Trader, then Owlcat could make something spectacular.

If we're looking for something more FPS, but still epic RPG, CD Projekt Red did some awesome work with (RPG) properties like The WItcher and Cyberpunk. They could do some awesome work with Eberron iconic visuals.

There are other teams that made awesome games, but honestly I suspect that many of those would stray from the source material (D&D + Eberron) more then necessary or it would just be a game with the Eberron name taped on with maybe a Eberron skin.

The only thing I'm missing is something like a third person RPG with DM building tools like Neverwinter Nights 1/2, but I don't see Bioware or Obsidian ever going back to their earlier works and the quality of those works. Maybe something like Solasta, but I wouldn't be all that hopeful.
