For those of you who have paid your silver to enter the Inn proper, the doorman checks your weapons and opens the inner door to the Inn's taproom. A row of weathered kegs stand behind a high bar, with four stout wooden tables running parallel to this, with chairs and stools on one side of the tables each. Serving girls walk the empty row that stands between pairs of tables, dispensing food from overflowing platters and drinks from earthenware pitchers. The mix of folk here is mostly human, with a sizeable minority of dwarves and a couple of elves and skaven amongst them. Most look like traders and woodsmen, with a few professional soldiers out of Archport, and there are three surly looking Road Wardens in the black and white checkered heraldry that marks them for whom they are. These men are the only ones to have weapons in the taproom, sword-breakers and stout knobby clubs. At the foot of the tables, a roaring fire heats the room and a cauldron filled with a reeking mix of leftovers and table scraps mislabeled as "House Stew". The five that Eribor spoke of are clustered on the floor against the far wall, playing a dice game and eyeing the rest of the room suspiciously. Other than that, there is the bar, where a few half-drunk tradesmen are discussing the cost effectiveness of shipping across the sea rather than along the Coast Road. The barkeep is a large, fat man with a jovial smile and ham fists, eagerly refilling cups and taking moneys from the patrons. If he takes a copper too much from a trader here and there, who is to notice? In the western end of the room, near the door to the upstairs, there is an old man, robed and bearded, sitting in a rocking chair. He has a metal box at his feet with a slit in the lid, and on a sign behind him are the words "Garelick the Loquacious: Sage of Everything. Questions Answered: 1-100 silver" Two men stand near him, seeming to be thinking of questions, while he speaks to a third man about the major faiths of the old Empire. Lastly, in an alcove near the bar is a large pigeon's roost, and a white-robed cleric of Garas the Traveller manages this Inn's Way Station, with a thick sheaf of scrolls detailing the many messages travellers have left each other in the last three months. Older messages are recorded in a huge ledger. The Way Stations message system works because each sends out pigeons to the rest when a message is left at one, thus disseminating the message to all Way Stations serviced by Garas. The bartender waves to you as you enter. "Be you needing a drink? Kieran's Stout is on tap tonight for just 3 copper!" He pours a drink for Endor and smiles happily.
