Hey ENWorld,
I have to admit that I don't drop by here as often as I used to. The reason is that I'm on Facebook and that keeps me busy enough, and I've just generally been busy. I now work as a Narrative Designer in the video game field. Yes, it is a dream come true for me, and yes, I'm very happy. Unfortunately that means that I haven't been writing a great deal of tabletop RPG material of late. Although my heart remains very much tied to tabletop, I've been enjoying it as a player rather than a writer lately.
I've also been working on a novel called Echoes of Olympus. People have asked me to describe what it's about, and I've been fairly quiet about it until now, but I have figured out how to describe it in one sentence: Think Clash of the Titans meets HBO's Rome by way of H.P. Lovecraft.
The full book isn't released yet, but I do have the first 70 pages available for download via Smashwords: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/102398 If you like to read, I'd be thrilled if you decide to check it out.
A few things you should be aware of:
1. There is some mature content, but that isn't the focus of the book.
2. It is available for the kindle here: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Echoes-Olympus-Novella-ebook/dp/B0063VOKYW/ref=sr_1_1580?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1320680985&sr=1-1580"]Amazon.com: Echoes of Olympus: A Novella eBook: Darrin L. Drader: Kindle Store[/ame] however, I'm still working with Amazon to try to get it dropped down to the low, low price of $0.00. You do have my permission to download a copy from Smashwords and convert it to your preferred format.
3. I'd be interested in any feedback you have.
