ECL for fey'ri?

Just trying to gather opinions on what the ECL of a fey'ri (planetouched elf from Monsters of Faerun should be, as one of my players just started one. His character has the following racial abilities from this choice:

+2 Dex, +2 Int, -2 Con
wings - fly speed 40(poor)
all elven racial traits
DR 10/+1
spell-like abilities, 1/day - detect thoughts, dimension door, enervation

No bonus HD, though. So what do you think? I'm leaning toward an ECL of +3 or +4 for the above. The wings, DR, and spell-like abilities in particular seem like big advantages for a character to have.

You didn't mention Alternate Form. if you didn't allow it, +3 should be fine, but if he does have the Alternate Form ability, +4, maybe even +5.

Yeah, thanks, forgot alternate form - I did allow it, so he also has alter self at will. I have him set at ECL +4 currently. I worry about the character, though, because he only has 23 hp and I don't think he's gonna have a long life span in CotSQ. Personally, I think I'd rather have the extra levels/HD instead of cool racial abilities.

Where is this official ECL +2 ?

If it werent for the 10/+1 DR I think a +2 would be enough... still +3 ECL are half celestial or half fiends that are way more powerful than feyris....

Thanks, Hammy, I must have overlooked that. It seems a bit low to me, too, but I do admit two more levels would certainly increase the odds of the character surviving more than one or two battles. I think I'll give it a try and see how it works out.

WotC had a lot of understated ECL in their first books that really put the idea of ECL out there. Look at Half-Dragon and most of the Half-X templates. I think +2 ECL on the Fey'ri is low -- but +5 is prolly a little too high. I'm for +3/+4, but unfortunately I don't have Monsters of Faerun with me right now to make a more solid statement... damnable working for a paycheck!

personally I like +3, but if a player said 'but the FRCS says +2' I may let them get away with +2. Then again, I think svirfneblin should be +0. No not on any logical reasing, just my irrational love of them
