The standard: if you play in The Scars Run Deep, stop reading now... Next session, the players will be investigating a dangerous area populated with undead and who knows what else. I want to split the party up in either two or three groups to enhance roleplaying and potentially take advantage of skills certain pairs may be lacking. What I'm looking for is a way to effectively split the group up and prevent them from reuniting with one another for a bit of time. Details: They are crossing a river to investigate an ancient battlefield in search of clues from years past. For those who know the Scarred Lands setting, I'm using the Last Watchtower as detailed in the SLCS. There is a tower from which shines an eerie light on certain nights, and undead are known to haunt these areas. Their destination is not neccesarily the Watchtower itself, but probably the battlefields around it. I'm flexible on that part. The party is accompanied by a low-level druid NPC and a high-level wizard NPC. I intend to have each of these in seperate groups. I'm considering the wizard taking a few of the characters somewhere, through flight maybe, and then the ground collapses on the others, dropping them underground... Anyone have any stellar ideas? A necropede maybe? :D Edit: Nevermind, I think I'll go with my original idea...
