Special Items Nethrancor has several items specific to his faith; that he or his followers have invented to further his handiwork. First are actually several versions of the darkskull ritual with differing spells, materials, and requirements. Black Iron Darkskull This skull, shaped from black iron, is wholly evil. Wherever the skull goes, the area around it is treated as though an unhallow spell had been cast with the skull as the touched point of origin with dimensional anchor fixed to the unhallow area. Moderate evocation [evil]; CL 9th; Craft Wondrous Item, dimensional anchor, unhallow, creator must be evil; Price 200,000 gp; Weight 5 lb. Use the darkskull ritual with the following changes/additions. Requirements: Craft Wonderous Item; choir of 13 chanters, rough-shaped black iron skull (approximately the size of a human skull, 5 lbs.); Craft (blacksmithing) DC 15 and 4 days of crafting or 5 lbs. iron, fabricate, and Craft (blacksmithing) DC 15; a black iron blade blessed by a priest of Nethrancor; a black iron brazier; a sacrificial altar made of obsidian dedicated to Nethrancor and prepared with unhallow and dimensional anchor; 2 matching rubies, both crown cut (worth 1,000 gp each) [Craft (lapidary) DC 25 and 8 days crafting to cut and polish the gems and set them as eyes or fabricate and Craft (lapidary) DC 15 (can be combined with above casting of fabricate)]; one willing sacrifice*; dimensional anchor (or psionic dimensional anchor) and unhallow; 5,000 gp worth of herbs, oils, and incense. Willing sacrifice is a relative term: common means of obtaining “willing” sacrifices include drugs, charms, and feeblemind. Condition: Constant chanting of supplications to Nethrancor for 8 hours Condition: Hollow Night holiday Condition: The witching hour Location: Hollow Night ritual site Offerings: 5,000 gp worth of herbs, oils, and incense burned in the black iron brazier At the beginning of the chanting, the sacrifice is killed by cutting its throat with the black iron dagger, the blood must be splashed onto the skull. When the chanting ends (dawn) the blood must be wiped off and the skull is enchanted to furthermore radiate an unhallow effect and a dimensional anchor effect in the same area (40 ft. radius).
