My druid has just gained the Elemental Shape ability. I've always assumed that druids with this ability could only shift into the basic fire, earth, air and water elemental forms. When I read the rules text more closely, I realized that a druid using elemental shape gains all of the elementals extraordinary, supernatural and spell-like abilities. Basic elementals don't have spell-like abilities.
So now I'm wondering if elemental shape gives druids the ability to shift into creatures with the elemental type, rather than simply letting druids shift into basic elementals.
Has anyone dealt with this before?
