[ELH] Seed: Summon

In the Summon Seed description it states,

"[The summoned creature] acts immediately, on your turn, if its spell resistance is overcome and it fails a Will saving throw."

Couple of questions:

1) Is this a typo? The example epic summoning spells do not indicate that the summoned creatures get a save or SR.

2) If this is not a typo does the creature still appear, but is not under your control (a la Lord of Nightmares)?

Thanks!

Personally I have no idea.

I think its a typo for the reason you mention. No sample spells mention it. But really, I don't think theres been any Erratta released and I don't think there are any FAQ responses yet.

Considering the seeds are supposed to be based on non-Epic spells, and that non-Epic spells don't give Saves or Spell Resistance, I would say go without it.

If you read farther on in the spell description you'll see that it specifically mentions saves and SR under spells to summon a unique being. That is why the stat block says 'see text' under Saving Throw and Spell Rsistance.

So, normal generic creatures - no save or SR. Specific unique creatures - save & SR.
