Message: <blockquote data-quote="Afrodyte" data-source="post: 4183271" data-attributes="member: 8713">Actually, I was thinking the same thing.  In D&D terms, Elrond is more likely to have bard levels than cleric levels.  Because:1.  Bardic knowledge: Is there anything about Middle-earth this guy doesn't know?2.  He can sing and play the harp.  Well, if being raised by Maglor has any effect.3.  Elves often use music (especially singing) to work magic.4.  Bards can heal too.5.  Speak Language as a class skill.  It is likely that Elrond knows: Quenya, Sindarin, Adunaic, Westron, Dwarven runes, and Black Speech.  It's highly probable that his Intelligence bonus is high enough, but he probably knows more than that would indicate.6.  Really max ranks in many of the bard's class skills: Appraise, Concentration, Decipher Script, Diplomacy, Gather Information, Knowledge (all of them), Listen, Perform (harp and singing), Sense Motive, Speak Language, Spellcraft.  It's also likely he'd have high ranks in: Balance, Climb, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Swim, and Tumble.7.  Bard spells he'd know: detect magic, know direction, read magic, comprehend languages, cure light wounds, identify, cure moderate wounds, delay poison, tongues, cure serious wounds, dispel magic, remove curse, speak with animals, detect scrying, legend lore, neutralize poison, speak with plants, dispel magic (greater), analyze dweomer, heroes' feastThe only drawback: the alignment restriction.  Elrond is totally LG.  However, he'd totally have aristocrat, paladin, fighter, and loremaster levels too.  And probably druid, if he can make the Bruinen overflow.</blockquote>
