The breath weapon of the elscorcho has atrophied into a weaker, but still potent ability to spit burning orbs that cling to the flesh and continue to flame.</p><p></p><p>Elscorcho is not particularly intelligent for a dragon, and primarily exists only to consume living creatures. It is none too particular about what it eats, with the exception of cold or water-based life forms. It can consume both fire elemental beings and mundane creatures.</p><p></p><p>Unlike most dragons, an elscorcho does not horde precious metals like gold and silver. Instead it prefers precious gems and valuable objects that can withstand intense heat.</p><p></p><p>An elscorcho can speak Ignan.</p><p></p><p><strong>Combat</strong></p><p></p><p>Elscorcho charges recklessly into battle, flailing about madly with its fanged mouth and heavy tail. Its fire breath is normally only employed on creatures that are not native to the plane of fire.</p><p></p><p><strong>Spit Fire (Ex):</strong> Once every 1d4 rounds, as a ranged touch attack, an elscorcho can spit a burning glob at a target within 80 feet. The burning glob inflicts 4d6 points of fire damage on the first round, then an additional 2d6 points of fire damage per round for every 4 HD of the elscorcho (Reflex DC 20 half). The burning glob can be removed by the creature as a full-round action. The save DC is Constitution-based.</p><p></p><p><strong>Heat (Ex):</strong> Merely touching or being touched by an elscorcho will inflict 1d8 points of fire damage.</p><p></p><p><strong>Burn (Ex):</strong> When an elscorcho hits with a bite, claw, or tail lash attack, the opponent must succeed on a DC 21 Reflex save or catch fire. The save DC is Constitution-based. The flame burns for 1d4 rounds if not put out sooner.
