Empty Room Studios Publishing News

Hey Folks,

A quick update on some of the great things going on over at Empty Room Studios Publishing.
For further discussion, questions, and sneak peaks head over to the Tangled Muse Forum and check us out.

The most exciting news for me (and what has been keeping me busy) is the partnership with
Arid Hills Productions and Empty Room Studios Publishing. Together we are creating a new line of 3-D card-stock terrain that is not only beautifully modeled, but will be fully painted. No heavy graphic or photo-manipulated textures. . . these are truly going to be a must have product for your miniatures. In addition, we will be tackling a wide assortment of different terrain that will make you want to have adventures just to use these. I'm super excited!

Also, we will be launching our Modern Fantasy product line, a part of our Standard Stock Art family of products. This new line of stock art will be in the theme of modern fantasy, influenced by popular video and computer games, comic books, and animation. I expect to have the first product out next month.

Expect to see several new releases of our other popular series, including a new LandEscapes, Tavern Menus, Fantastical Currencies, and more.

And last, the ERSP store should be up and open sometime this week. Expect an announcement soon.

Cool! Any hints on what the first one is going to be and when it's released? Will they be compatible with the Minute Dungeons from Arid Hills?

Hmm, hints. Well, it will be an underground location, but not a dungeon or cave.
As for release, expect to see it out next month, then we expect to have at least one release per month after that.

As far as compatibility.
Sort of... All 3D scenery is compatible to some extent provided that the scale is the same (in this case standard 25mm figures and 1" grids) - they'll be compatible in that they'll all be scaled to one inch grids and they're both set to a standard 2" high (although some sections are likely to be 3" to ensure that models standing on raised platforms can't look over the walls. This means you'd be able to go from one to the next with not too much worry, or you'd be able to use a room space from the Minute Dungeon as the merge between the two. Equally, the Future Worlds Concrete Wastelands could be considered compatible by the same standard as could Fat Dragon's E-Z Dungeons series as they're all scaled to the same size. You could even consider Skeleton Key Games' floor textures as compatible as well.

As far as specific details. All the models will be boxes, meaning true 3D construction instead of flat single card walls. Also, the real focus is on the scenes we are choosing to do and the "look" of the models, which will most likely set them apart as far as fitting the theme.

It will all make more sense when we get the previews up, I'm sure.
