Message: <blockquote data-quote="Patryn of Elvenshae" data-source="post: 2447707" data-attributes="member: 23094">Huh.  It certainly has been awhile, huh?I found out about EN World because, right at the time 3rd Edition was coming out, I was [and still am, though not nearly as active] a regular poster on the Bioware boards.  They were, at the time, developing Neverwinter Nights alongside the final stages of 3rd Edition's development.So, while debating the way the rules were being included in a rather successful computer game, I decided I should hang out here, a bit, to figure out what the rules actually were.  I don't think I posted much, if at all, in those days (in fact, my login from the far distant past seemed to have expired by the time I returned), but I read everything here voraciously.It was also here that I discovered the "casting call" for playtesters for the 3E revision of the Forgotten Realms.A group of people that I knew from an in-the-planning-stages NWN Persistant World - The Band of the Red Hand: The Vale of Lost Souls - decided that we'd make a great playtesting group, so we all joined the RPGA, we submitted our group information, and we were accepted as an initial playtest group.  We played a few sessions - I think we were playing one of the Return to ... modules, to see how well FR characters stacked up against Core challenges - and then, we were accepted into the next round of playtesting.We were given new rules, new regional feats (a concept I immediately fell in love with), new domains to try out.  It was awesome.  I still remember looking over the various "Initiate of ..." feats and thinking to myself, "Someone who takes the Initiate of Corellon feat gains a +2 unnamed bonus to Intelligence or Strength; someone who takes Initiate of the Red Knight gains Weapon Proficiency and Focus (Longsword)?*  These are supposed to be balanced how?"I was so proud, when the FRCS came out, to notice two things:1. The absence of anything resembling the Intiate of ... feats2.
