In a few minutes, an epic battle will being. The party's spellcasters begin the familiar process of buffing their comrades. "Right, everyone has a Resist Energy: Acid, along with a Protection from Energy. Everyone is Hasted. Geoff, have a Bull's Strength. The cleric's casting Heroes Feast, which affects everyone. I'll throw up a quick Enlarge on the fighter. We all have a Heroism each. Longstrider on the rogue, as usual." And so on...
Most spellcasters’ main job, besides healing and dealing damage, is buffing - they enhance the prowess of the other party members or themselves. But once the buff spells start flying, it can be pretty hard to keep track of all these changes and additions to the PCs stats and abilities - especially at higher levels.
Enter: the Buff Cards. These cards help you with that. They're a very simple concept, both in usage and design. Whenever a buff spell is cast on a PC or another creature, the spellcaster's player need simply hand the target player the appropriate card. The player then lays the card down in front of his character sheet. Each card not only reminds everyone which conditions apply, it also provides details of what the condition does. The result? Less time fumbling through rulebooks or trying to remember what's going on. And one less thing to worry about in combat is always good!
In addiiton, to help deal with all those different bonus types and remembering what stacks with what, the Buff cards are colour-coded. The colour of the card indicates the bonus type, so you can easily see at a glance which overlap and which do not.
Buff Cards, from EN Publishing, are on sale now for only $2.99.
Buff Cards are the latest in EN Publishing's series of in-game props. If you like these, don't forget to check out:
