Hi all. I'm Horacio. I'm EN World addict. I've been an addict since 2000, but this year my addiction has grown. And I want to tell you a story... [Warning, tale about the Hivemind origins] Before Gen Con, I only posted in SH forum. And then, I began to post in Meta, I was there while Gen Con, when a thread that later would be known as the (First) Sacred Thread erupted profiting the moderator (besides our own Hivemoderator Darkness) were at Gen Con, and was stopped by Dire Piratecat after the con was finished. Then I continued posting in both Meta and SH, for a month or two. Until by half October, a modest thread began to grow out of control. We were all people who have met in Meta forum, we all shared an odd sense of humor, we all had too much free time in our hands, and we began the longest posting marathon in EN World's history. At the end, the thread was closed after some 1197 post. It was called Dragongirl, Horacio & Arwink, three posters and a baby. During some 72 hours we posted like madpeople, more than 200 messages each one, and other people like Crothian and Darkness closely behind that. It was a silly thing, yes, but it was very very special. I can truely say that this thread changed my life. Oh, it sounds like a film line, maybe, but it did. Because I met very special people, people that today I call friends, more close friends that most people I've met in real life. And Because... well, I'll never tell... but believe me, to me it was a lot more than a silly thread. And since then, we became addicted. Whatever any of us was online, we posted. Darkness asked us to put a label in our insane threads, and keep them limited to three, so the [Hivemind] label was born. Then some people began to join us, and some more after them, and our little bunch of Hiveminders grew more. But we still have the same spirit and we try to be friendly and open to everybody. Some people see us as a postcount race, or a stupid buch of silly person. This is not a PbP game either. We haven't characters, we haven't stats, we live no adventure. To us, it's more. Hivemind is the virtual equivalent to the Cheers bar, a place when people, some regulars, some first timers, gather to speak and enjoy a good time. It's like a chat, but a chat that surpases time zone barriers. We live in the four corners of the planet, from Australia to USA, passing by France or Austria. We cannot never be all online at the same time, so we meet here, we drop essages, we share a small community inside the big home. That's Hivemind. That's what we are. [End Hivemind history]
