Saul Antilium Sir Saul is a knight who belongs to the city guard. Despite his rather strict morals, and reserved nature, Saul is very courteous, well-mannered, and pleasant and therefore he is much respected among the rank and file of the guardsmen. He is still young, but has seen the coming and going of the prior Lord Commander, and was actually the man who brought the evidence used in the dismissal hearings to Lady Kelvin. Due to this, he is somewhat untouchable – though he’s proved inconvenient to both Palmora and Halgan at times. Needless to say, Antilium has an iron sense of justice. He would never stoop to bribery, and holds himself aloof from the power struggle between Thomas Haljan and Sebastiano Palmora. He also holds himself aloof from the other Watch-Captains, who know very little of him. He considers protecting Mor’s End his duty, and any threat, internal or external, should be dealt with ruthlessly. He also has a keen competitive spirit – though not with dice or cards. He is an excellent boxer, though he seldom is seen doing so, and once knocked out Gorkil himself in a friendly match (regulars vs. elites). That said, Antilium also has a sense of compassion. He often spends long hours teaching young guardsmen, and teenagers in the Muster, swordplay, and archery (though Baltus Starkad is a much better shot) and often tries to get Ulfgar to come give lessons to ‘the regulars.’ He is known for his generosity as well, though he never loans money, only making gifts. He is also a firm believer in the god of justice/protection. He never misses a service, and spends an hour each morning at his devotions. He also regularly takes a vow of fasting, going up to two days without eating. Antilium is a broad-shouldered man, with closely cut black hair, clean-shaven, and with a muscular look about him.
