EN World, Lets Compile a List of Boss Music

Oversquid

First Post
So I've been scouring the forums, and I found a lot of stuff on "Mood Music", and even the odd "Battle Music", which I think is great, and are great things to have on hand to set the players and the DM into the world they're creating together.

But one thing I've noticed is a comparable lack of what I call "Boss Music", which is the kind of music that plays when the PCs encounter the BBEG(s). For Boss Music, it should be more like Battle Music, except with a little more "kick" in it somehow when compared to ordinary Battle Music.

So guys, I say we pool those kinds of songs together, and see what we can come up with.

Some Songs I like to use:

"Answers" by Vigilante (Instrumental). Feel this ones good for an urban type fight with a guy who wounded one of the PCs personally.

"The Heretic Hammer" by Dimmu Borgir (Instrumental). This is metal, but I find this kind of sound to fit an angry demon quite well.

I also use the Bhaalspawn Battle track from Baldur's Gate II as well as other tracks from that game.

Sadly, my list is short, help me out guys!

This one tends to work well in such situations:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt0UuNpUqK4]Star Wars - Duel of the Fates (Soundtrack) - YouTube[/ame]

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJUXO4wk42s&feature=related]Matrix Revolutions Soundtrack - Final Battle - YouTube[/ame]

(Use when someone on the PC's side gets dominated to help the BBEG)
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tztuGMPLAmI&feature=related]Star Wars Episode III soundtrack: Anakin vs. Obi-Wan - YouTube[/ame]

(This one's best when the BBEG starts with a monologue)
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlcUwUwjLrs]17- Prelude to War - YouTube[/ame]

(When you just want to kick some booty)
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUnrWo6z9WY]He's a pirate - orchestra - YouTube[/ame]

And well, some music actually designed as "Boss Fight Music..."

I dig the soundtrack from Age of Conan, actually. I've played this one in many an epic battle with a boss. For what it's worth, most of the music in Age of Conan kicks all sorts of ass.

While I draw from numerous sources, not just video game music, I often use boss battle themes for boss battles.

Perhaps a bit overused, but nevertheless a great piece:

Another good one:

And because my deep and abiding love for Chrono Trigger cannot be understated:

For the tragic villain use something with lots of nice sounding chord changes like the following.
