I've recently started to look into doing something new. I kind of like the relatively new format in modules and published adventures that shows and details an encounter layout. Complete with starting placement of antagonists, terrain features, and all that. Much like the set-up of a Miniatures scenario.
Does anyone know of a set of software that allows a user to take a blank 1" square grid and insert features, mark starting points, block off areas for the rooms, and all that? I'd like to be able to create an encounter layout and print it out so that I could use that page from the printer, ready for use with minis. I don't need a huge mapping program or anything; just think it would be handy to be able to prep encounters for my game at home and then simply print out encounters....so I could just whip out the page printed from the program during the game instead of using various dry-erase/wet-erase products that I use now.
Anyone know of a simple, utilitarian program like that?
