Encounter - The Crystal Giant

This is the fourth encounter of a new dungeon I'll be building over this next week based on the Nexus in World of Warcraft. When the dungeon is complete, each encounter, save the last, can be completed in any order.

Encounter Level 11/13 (3000/4000 XP)


Setup
This encounter includes the following creatures at the low tier:
4 Ambush Vine Shoot (V, Lowered to Level 11); regrow when Ormorok first becomes bloodied, after Bloodied Backlash
Ormorok (O, Frost Titan Avalanche, Lowered to Level 11)

This encounter includes the following creatures at the high tier:
4 Ambush Vine Shoot (V, Lowered to Level 13); regrow when Ormorok first becomes bloodied, after Bloodied Backlash
Ormorok (O, Frost Titan Avalanche, Lowered to Level 13)

Ormorok is a crystalline creature, created as a natural defense within the cavern. Along with his fey allies, Ormorok has successfully guarded this ley line from both the elves and the dragons. When the party approaches the ramp, read the following:

The wall of the cavern seems to push out toward you for a moment; then you see that it is not actually the wall, but a creature made of the same material. The creature doesn't react immediately, but 4 of the same plants you fought on your way here sprout up from the ground on the platform. As you step onto the ramp, the titan finally reacts. He takes only one step forward, but even that brings him practically on top of you. Pushing 18 feet tall, he looks down at you and says, "Nooooooo."

Tactics
Ormorok starts the encounter with cascading avalanche and freezing backlash while the vines are still behind him. Each round until he recharges one or both of these abilities, he'll slam or use frost spike against the creature that has him marked or dealt the most damage to him during the last round. He may also focus on bloodied creatures, marked or not, unless it becomes too dangerous for him. The vines will likely die at one point when Ormorok recharges an attack and uses it. They regrow when he's bloodied, after he uses bloodied backlash.

Scaling the Encounter
Make the following adjustments to the combat based on the number of PCs present.
Four PCs: Remove 2 Ambush Vine Shoots.
Six PCs: Add 2 Ambush Vine Shoots after the first round in the upper left corner.

Ending the Encounter
The encounter ends when Omorok is defeated. Any remaining vine shoots die off at that time.

Experience Points
Each PC should receive 600 / 800 experience points for defeating Omorok.

Treasure
Omorok shatters into gems totalling 4,500gp / 8,500gp.[sblock=Encounter Map] [ ] = square, || = Wall, [x] are where PCs can start.
