A slender Eladrin right hand, reached into an orchid robe, stopping wrist deep behind the smoky pink accented trim. After a short pause, it withdraws from the folds of cloth, bereft of any tangible item. The left hand quickly tucks away the empty pipe it had been cradling. Would it be preposterous to believe you valiant hero's would return IAC property to the scene of this unforeseen, and regrettable arcane disturbance site? Though I personally will not be examining this incident further, The... What's the word...? Ah, The Altruistic nature of our organization, requires further investigation by other members, with the intention of preventing further regrettable arcane disturbances. It's for the safety of the public! Travesty's such as this will be prevented by the concentrated efforts of the IAC. Veruzak swells, some of the color returns to his already pale complexion. He confidently swings open the cellar, and begins collecting the specimen he'd restrained, smiling all the while. Returning to the group he sets the bundled evidence to be packed with the rest of the haul. Yes Atlas, "these people" of the fine Isle of Huarton, will be comforted, knowing their zombified family members, will be helping prevent future Psychiggot attacks via their heroic sacrifice. I have utmost confidence our expert research team, with the donation of these two arcane disturbance sites, and the tragically effected loved ones, can create an early warning system to prevent such heinous loss of life in the future. What more noble cause in death could their families wish for. Veruzak has no hint of sarcasm or feigned care, just cool steady logic. The bodies were tools to prevent negative arcane press, which meant saving lives in case of Psychiggot infestation. [sblock=OOC] Love to watch a "can Bell and her friends save the quasi-innocent bystanders from being lobotomized by Veruzak" sort of thing?" unfold. [sblock=spoiler for THB] [sblock=well maybe a spoiler...] [sblock=ok so it's just an idea] I've done an opposed skill challenge before in a RL game I DMed. It went well, this is what I did; The PC's rolled opposing checks, both had a regular skill challenge difficulty. The twist, I raised all DCs by 2, to represent non-cooperation. If either PC beat the DC it counted as a success for the party. The PC who had the most success' during the challenge won. If the skill challenge was successfully completed... So the group works together to complete the challenge i.e. Everyone wants to preserve and keep the bodies working. Group win, or group fail. Something like, Bell's side made 5 successful rolls, to Veruzak's side only having 3, the people would be saved. If Veruzak's side made 5 successful rolls, to Bell's side only having 3, the people would be useful as self sustaining organ donors. If Bell's Side and Veruzak's side made X successes, but need Y, and had N failures (N being their quota), then the people would be worthless as organ donors, and remain non-sentient. Thoughts? I'd be interested in improving this for future games. [/sblock] [/sblock] [/sblock] [/sblock]
