Enhance Wild Shape question

Qazir

First Post
A casting of Enhance Wild Shape allows a Druid, among other things, to assume the Ex abilities of the next form. My understanding is that Feats are considered Ex abilities, so does that mean the Druid can get the feats like Track from dog shape or Weapon Finesse from hawk shape?

And if the answer is yes, then does the same hold true for Master of Many Forms? Would you get Awesome Blow, Cleave etc. just for wild shaping into a Giant?

Or is there some middle ground such that you get certain feats, but not others?

Some feats grant extraordinary abilities, but the feats aren't the abilities themselves.

So I don't think Enhance Wildshape gives you any access to feats.

Yip. I'd agree with that. In general, take a look at the ablities of the animal, and all abilities listed with an (Ex) behind them (for extraordinary) are available to take. Wild shape allows you to take extraordinary special attacks, so basically Enhance Wild Shape will grant you the extraordinary special qualities (blindsigth, darkvision, etc.) as well.

I think if you look at the stat block, there is a line marked SA and a line marked SQ.

Wild Shape itself gives you the SA.

With the spell, you also gain the (Ex) abilities in the SQ line. For animals, these are generally sensory (Scent, Blindsight, etc.) but can include defensive abilities like Ink Cloud Jet (Ex) for the Octopus.

And I agree with the previous posters, Feats differ from special abilities, so the spell won't grant you the Feats.
