So I'm finally nearing the 3rd council meeting. Neronvain is dead and Varram has been captured. My game is ToD/SKT mix. Frulam was captured at our table and to stay her execution she begins revealing interesting tidbits: She discovered correspondence (a letter) between Dralmorrer and someone only identified as N. The letter revealed that Dralmorrer was part of the Eldreth Valuuthra and that Dralmorrer had held back a few items bound for the skycastle that he thought would be better used in the hands of elves. Frulam had not revealed this information to anyone, waiting for an opportune time to present the evidence do the most damage and to elevate her position within the cult. I ran episode 4: Neronvain before episode 3: Varram the White Varram was captured at our table. Neronvain was killed. Varram reveals that after the loss of the cult's assets (Naerytar and the Hunting Lodge) as well as the hoard, Rezmir was quickly demoted from the inner circle and replaced. (Thus instigating - Rezmir and her trusty deputy Captain Othelstan as part of the crew in the Cult Strikes Back II) He further reveals that Severin had been using the PCs the whole time to do his dirty work. He had uncovered that Neronvain was part of a Eldreth Valuuthra cell that had infiltrated the cult and so he had coaxed Neronvain to gather more treasurers for their queen, but to leave the dragon mask behind, hoping for the wyrmspeaker to be killed and if possible in the process take out a few of those pesky PCs. Either way it would be win. Thus Severin could replace him without causing much turmoil within the organisation. Severin had also been behind the PCs going on a wild goose-chase to the Sea of Moving Ice, hoping that their encounter with the white dragon would coax the dragon's partner, Arveiaturace, in joining the cult. He further reveals the tasks of each of the Wyrmspeakers - Rezmir - Ammasing a hoard for the Queen Neronvain - Organising the defense of the Well of Dragons Varram - Accumulating sacrificial lambs for the ritual. Galvan - Instigating chaos/distraction and the events of SKT with Iymrith. Severin - Overseeing the entire operation, preparation, establishing/maintaining alliances What Varram doesn't know is that Talis the White (another survivor at my table) arranged for Varram's mask to be stolen by the Zhentarim, sending Varram on a wild goose-chase. Talis leaked the information about Varram's whereabouts - hoping Varram was captured or better yet killed, allowing her to replace him as a Wyrmspeaker.
