ENNie nominated Game Night: Entire Novel Free On EN World

Jonny Nexus

First Post
Hi all,

All the chapters of my novel Game Night have now been published on EN World. You can start reading chapter one here:

http://www.enworld.org/forum/blogs/jonny-nexus/2059-game-night-chapter-one-gate.html

To those of you've who read it through, week by week, thank you. If you'd like to make any comments on it, please feel free to do so here. If any of you haven't yet checked it out, please take a look.

What is Game Night? Well it's my novel of six gods roleplaying, very badly, with the mortal realm below. It was nominated for an ENnie award and has sold pretty well, but it's been out two years now and I wanted to let it out into the wild. So we (myself, my publisher James Wallis, and Russ of EN World) decided to publish the whole novel, for free, in twenty six weekly instalments. Which we've now finished doing.

Want to know more? Well this is what EN World's own Teflon Billy and Crothian said about it:

"I just finished reading Game Night by EN World's own Jonny Nexus and it is a laugh riot." 5/5 stars - Teflon Billy's review

"This is the best work of gaming fiction I have ever read." - Crothian's review

I probably already said this. But Game Night is a brilliant book. And while I'm aware of gamers I am not one and it still made me laugh out loud on the tube!

Full of unexpected twists and turns, Jonny Nexus has a nicely twisted sense of humour.

I have urged many, many friends to read this and everyone has liked it! :)

I actually first read the dead-trees edition after picking it up at GenCon - this is simply a fantastic, fun read. I can hardly wait for the next one (and don't forget to go to his site and download Saving Stone, the prequel).

Hi all,

Sorry, been taken up with things over the last few days, so I've been very remiss and haven't got back to replying. So I'll do so here in one streamlined multi-quite post.

Thanks, that's very cool to hear. A lot of people think this is only a gamers book, and it's nice to have someone who isn't a gamer say that they really liked it.

Excellent stuff!

Thanks! :)

Thanks, and yes, that's a very good point about Saving Stone, and one I should have made in the original post. If you liked reading Game Night, then you should check out Saving Stone, which you can find here:

Saving Stone: Free Game Night prequel

Hope you like it!

I own the dead tree version of Game Night. Very funny. Now I will read the prequel and learn all of the characters' secrets so I can become a Gamer God, too. Mwa-ha-ha.

Awesome! :)

Ohh! Cool!

Should I have read the prequel first, for those that may not have started the book yet.

No, you can read them in any order. The prequel was written after Game Night, but is set before, and contains no spoilers. I suppose that if someone hadn't read either, I would recommend that they start with Saving Stone, but that's only because:

a) it perhaps makes more chronological sense that way; and

b) I tried to make it a really clear introduction to the characters.

But basically, feel free to read them in any order.

Jonny
