(ENNIES) The ENWorld Animated Logo

Michael Morris

First Post
Here is a reduced size version of the ENWorld Globe animation that will be used in the Flash movie for the ENNIES award. I was able to get Flash to compile it as an animated GIF without too much loss of quality. I'll keep the rest of the preshow under my hat until showtime. :)

(Note: Studios observers will note that this animation is similar to the one that opens the Dusk site Flash animation. Same principle, except this version has 4 times as many frames and is 4x as large in the original incarnation).

Correction: Below is the 1st frame of the animation - I couldn't get it to compile as an animated GIF. Scroll down to download the Shockwave sourcefile that is animated.

My gut says to try ImageReady - I've used Flash a time or two, and had nothing but problems. (Of course, since it apparently works great for so many other people, that doesn't mean much, but... still.)

I don't have to run the final off anyone else's system so I'm not too worried about converting. I just figured out why Flash isn't writing anything beyond frame 1, but it's complicated :)

I downloaded and opened it in Photo-paint, and there is only 1 frame.

EDIT - I see the reposted SWF file now; Michael, it might be a good idea to just have a contingency, just in case - like say the necessaryu files on a floppy in case your computer goes South the day of.

Adlon can attest to the soundness of this advice - he tried MP3 taping the ennies last year, and missed half of it due to a corrupt hard drive on his laptop.
