I'm not interested in defending my statements or trying to prove I'm right about the various concepts I pointed out. Obviously you're right and I will just have to 'agree to agree' with you. That's why this thread was created; to remind people how Drizzt & FR sucks. So of course you're going to blast every point I make. I don't really feel like arguing with someone about it because I already know I'm a moron for liking Drizzt and FR. I'm also not as intelligent as people that prefer the more adult authors since I actually enjoy reading Salvatore's writing. Obviously guys like Robert Jordan & Tolkien are better to read because they spend more time explaining the design on a woman's blouse & the detail of a bush and less time on childish stuff like Salvatore does. Whether you want to admit it or not, a Drizzt clone is nothing other than just another character concept. If Drizzt was never created as a FR character, somewhere, at some time, players would be making a Drow Ranger with 2-weapon fighting as their character concept. The only reason people are ok with other played out concepts is because we want to look cool on the internet by complaining about what everyone else complains about. I'm not going to nitpick what is or isn't a character concept. Every aspect you choose for a PC right down to the style of clothing he wears is part of the character concept. A dwarf with a Scottish accent is nothing more than a character concept. I don't care what region the dwarf mythology comes from. No other races from other cultures mythology are portrayed with a distinct human culture accent as dwarves are. I'd rather play with a player using a Drizzt clone than a player using a Scottish Dwarf any day. *Edit - and see, Dannyalcatraz was probably the first guy to start playing a Drizzt clone. So stop blaming Salvatore, we need to blame Dannyalcatraz!
