Enough so once your hero retires, he can equip his army with them, giving them a huge enough advantage to take over the world (unless another ruler decides to emulate him so his army can match, until some point everyone in the world is equipped with left boot of shield, recovered from battlefields (I always milk the cow with my great-great-grandad's boot, he was in the army you know, so if my cow decides to kick me, a strange blue light appear and I'm safe instead of having a broken back!). Even if such a feat only happens every generation, a thousand years old empire (a short lifespan in many fantasy universe) will have 75,000 left boots of shield lying around.</blockquote>
