Random thoughts to follow. Feel free to comment - 4 episodes left in this season. This one was pretty good. Very predictable but despite that I still liked it. That is not easy to do. Seeing the Enterprise get carved up like that really got to me. I don't know why. Must be the Trek-geek in me. Reminded me of seeing Wolf 379 for the first time. Blasted and dead Federation ships always give a neat visual. We've seen the Xindi intraconflict coming all season and this is the start of the payoff. Not bad. I like the Degra character. He works for me as the guy that asks the questions that plague his thoughts. I had an Alias/Buffy/DS9/Farscape moment at the end. "No, show more!" Take that for what you will. I like Trip. He cracks me up. T'pol is in way over her head. Good to see the pixie-like Vulcan get frazzed and stumped from time to time. As most folks around here are (I assume), I love it when the writers decide to screw with and beat up their characters. This wasn't quite it but they are on the right track. I have a fear that they won't follow through but I hope they do. They've beat up Archer to the point of killing in cold blood. Do that and more to the rest of the crew and we have a winnah. Have I mentioned that the blasted Enterprise was cool? Right, moving on... Enterprise J - Cheeky but I liked it. Daniels works for me. He shouldn't be he does. The timeline stuff makes no sense at all but I've learned to block it out. I'm a sucker for time travel stuff. This has not been done well but for whatever twisted reason, I like it. I don't buy it but I like it. Speaking of the Enterprise J, that brings me back to my theory that it would be great to see another "main" Star Trek series in the future. But Trek has to dissappear for a bit before that. At least 3 years of no Trek, preferrably 5 should do it. Make another TOS/Next Gen with the crew of the Enterprise in the near future of the NG/DS9/VOY timeline. Get a new creative team but keep a few of the old dogs around just for reference. Wait a few years, get some unknowns and kick Trek back off with a bang. Put it back on the weekends and outta prime time where it has no business being for the moment. Damn, another rant. Stopping now. I digress. Anyone else annoyed that we have to wait until April to see where this ep is leading? Oh, is UPN kidding anyone by moving ENT to 9 on Wednesdays? I don't get it. Final thought: T'pol should lose the catsuit and just put on a Starfleet uniform all the time. She made it look good last week and would make the bridge feel more like a military place rather than an odd fashion show gallery gone wrong.
