Message: <blockquote data-quote="John Crichton" data-source="post: 1247736" data-attributes="member: 4779">There are points for both arguements.  ENT is just starting to really get a head of steam into the season long story while DS9 had it for it's last 3 seasons.  There were a few off-shoot episodes here and there, but the majority of the eps were concentrated on the main story.  Farscape has its side episodes as well.  It had a good number of shows where it didn't progress the overall plot of that season, just like Trek.  It just did it at a much quicker pace.  But that was the style of the show: mile-a-minute.  It had nothing to do with fear of cancellation (they had no idea Sci-Fi wasn't going to honor their agreement for a 5th season until the last day of shooting for season 4) and everything to do with the style of the show.  It never felt crammed in to me. DS9 also had a better flow to it than ENT currently does.  You may dissagree but you have to take it in the context of the show's entire run.   DS9 had huge growing pains (as ENT does now) for it's first 3 seasons.  It really took off in season 4.  I've been one of the largest fans around here of ENT so far (as you know).  But I'm not going to say that any of it, to date, has been better than or even equal to the brilliance of DS9.  But, it's apples and oranges right now as ENT hasn't even hit the halfway point of their possible 7 season run. I'm not putting down ENT, I'm just calling it as I see it.  I thought the same thing about DS9 about this time of its run when comparing it to TNG (which was still in stride at that point).  I do have to say that I have liked a good amount of the ENT episodes so far and the meta-arc involving time is better than the Prophets meta-plot which I never (even to the end) was in love with.</blockquote>
