I don't want to get fixated on any one project or style right off, but I guess I would like to mention that I have never run SWd20. I have never played PnP SW d20. I run an "alternate history" DraonLance 3.5 War of the Lance campaign right now In the past I have run some Traveller, Space Opera and SpaceMaster campaigns. For one reason or another, I find SF/Space Opera very difficult to run. Perhaps its the sheer freedom and unexpected nature of a SciFi setting that makes "winging" such adventures difficult - or at least - difficult for *me*. I did play in a Traveller campaign pre-gen that worked very well. The name of it escapes me, but it was a 3rd party traveller adventure spanning across a few booklets. It was sort of a Indiana Jones meets Traveller campaign, where artifacts like a crystal mask and ancient ruins played a role. It was really well done and I enjoyed it/ That particular campaign had a strong storyline and focus and as a player I really enjoyed it. When looking at Star Wars - again - it seemed to me that here was a decent system, cool books, excellent new miniatures now (the usefulness of miniatures is not, imo, to be underesimated) ... but a positve dearth of really cool adventure material to support it. While I have designed tons of Fantasy Setting Material - something like SW I have never really attempted. So for that reason alone, it appeals. Certainly there appears to be a need for it, in the sense that there are few alternatives or published adventure material. The possibilities for world and aventure setting - cool buildings, snazzy maps and freedom in race and plot construction appeals too. How many people are actually playing Star Wars though? Is there a market demand among gamers for it? If there was a REALLY COOL epic Star Wars campaign available, would you play it or run it? BioWare's "Knights of the Old Republic" leaves a lot of opening for a follow up campaign to overthrow Revan.
