Hey all,
Some friends and I spent some time perusing the ELH yesterday and found all kinds of crazy and wacky situations. I thought I'd share them and invite others to do the same.
And please, this is not a thread for people to complain about the "uber-power" of the ELH. It's for taking the rules as presented and seeing what kind of wild and crazy stuff you can do.
Number One:
Slap a Reverse Gravity on someone, then hit them with Nailed to the Sky. Sends them into a never-decaying orbit. That implies gravity still affects them. So Reverse Gravity sends them off into space. If you're really good, you can aim them right at the sun.
Number Two:
I'm sure someone out there could out-do this, but this is what we did.
Straight-up 30th-Level Human Sorcerer. Charisma 25. He has a familiar. How much pure fireball damage can he drop in one round. No DBF. No other fire. Just fireballs. After massaging Quickens, Empowers, Maximizes, Intensifies, Delays, some Epic spell slots, a Haste, Simbul's Spell Trigger, Imbue Familiar, Time Duplicate, and some Limited Wishes (I think that covers it), we managed to figure a minimum of 1085, maximum 2610, with an average damage at 1847.
That's a total of 35 fireball spells, some normal, many meta-magicked up. It required a lot of preparation, some adjucating of Limited Wish (we erred heavily on the side of caution), killed all of our slots from 7th level up, and wasted roughly an hour of the lives of each of four grown men.
But it was fun.
