(Cho) The enemy recognizes your retreat for what it is and as a whole, moves into a defensive posture. You and your men fight off the remaining regiments that were covering the enemy's retreat. Your men make their way to the Morgue, seeing that their way is blocked by a huge crowd of spirits that look lost and bewildered. The gates into the Land of the Dead are being held by the warriors of Xess. They are not letting the spirits enter the sanctuary, and this is very strange. When has Xess denied entrance to any who had perished or sought refuge? ************************************************************ (Blaine) As the followers of Naristan finish filing into the great hall, as one, they chant in an ancient prayer of worship and praise for the deity. Angels and lesser servants watch over the crowd, scanning the room with all-seeing eyes. As a pair of their eyes passes slowly over you, you feel a draft around your body that feels as if you were standing naked on top of a high mountain in the dead of winter. A shivier runs down your spine as you feel the intrusion leave and are relieved to be warm once again. A beautiful creature then descends from on high above the chair in the front of the hall. You are in awe at the prescence of this creature. It is golden skinned and without a strand of hair on its head and it's eyes are a spectrum of beautiful light. You are unable to determine the sex of this creature as its body is shaped as that of a male but the facial features and slim curves suggest it is a female. At last, the creature is standing before the throne, golden wings with silver specks that reflect every light in the room fold behind it and disappear into nothingness. It sits comfortably in the chair at the front of the hall, and only then do you realize it's immense size in comparison to all those around you. ************************************************************ (Theron) Following Maddirn into the duty barracks, you see several of your brethren lying prone upon the floor. When you reach their bodies they have a look of great shock and confusion plastered upon their hairy faces. Maddirn quickly checks the charts and confirms his earlier comments about who was supposed to be out on duty. Elegan, Duran, and Brogern are lying here in full battle dress as is common to those who are performing services of the great Dhagadast. They do not appear to be breathing but they do not appear dead. It is as though they are in some sort of stasis and time has merely stopped for them. ************************************************************ (Anaet) [ooc: minor correction - the proxy's name is Alwhyn. Isikurs will come and speak to you, not the proxy. My bad.] Isikurs steps through the portal without breaking the surface of the glowing light. Such is the manner in which all high-ranking servants of Ianua can travel, without making the slightest sound through a portal or gate if they so wish. The very presence of such a respected creature warms your heart and calms your fears. However, Isikurs commands your attention and appears as though he will accept nothing but that. "I come to deliver a message to the faithful of our Matron-high.," he looks around with starry eyes at each individual that is present. "Who will accept such a message?"
