Well with the 100 or so temporary power points I got off my first crit of the night, I used improved psychofeedback to boost my strength score by 40. Then on the crit after that with str of around 80 I got 300 more temporary power points. By the end of that combat I was power attacking full and critting for over 1000 damage because my strength was 295. Because every crit was for progressively more damage, which allowed me to burn progressively more temporary power points on strength, which in turn returned progressively more power points. The best part was that I was getting a number of temporary hitpoints either to this, described in game as a divine shield that protected my form in the epic battle we were having against the cast off shell of the ascended former demi god. So when he was nailing me with Ruin epic spells and black divine blasts for 175 points of damage per action twice a round, I laughed and kept taunting him while I took him to town. Too bad he was undead and immune to crits. I almost ran out of both temporary power points and temporary hit points while fighting him. Only had 500 or so temporary power points left (+250 or so normal power points I hadn't used yet) when we finally dispersed his form onto the astral. Rawr. No cohort, no rhino hide holy sworded spirited charges, just 295 strength and a whole lotta butt kickin. Thanks again for the bracelet of friends suggestion, saved two lives in a single game ("oh no! their surrounded by deathbringers! There's no way out!" *YOINK* "Hey there pretty momma, what's say you and me get outta here and find some place quiet..." *SLAP* "Thanks but no thanks, and thanks"), and thanks VERY much for the planar champion suggestion. Not only did it lead me to his appearance, personality, and backstory, but it also proved invaluable mechanically to be able to detect invisible and ethereal creatures (as well as strike them) without wizard support (as the dragon turned out to be a sapphire pyschoportationist). Thanks guys!!
