[Epic] Psions

Caliber

All other Epic casters stop gaining new spell slots once they enter into epic rules. Psions gain 34 PPs a level. This is the equivalent of two 9th level slots a level. While I like Psions, and the more power the better, this seems a tad bit extreme. Anyone think?

I found that very odd. My only thought is that is to help with greater psionic abilities that are availible through Improved Manifestation.

Well, true, it could be. But doesn't Improved Manifestation provide them with a number of PPs as well? I don't have the feat in front of me so I am unsure. What about Psychic Warriors. They gain no more PPs. What if they take Improved Manifestation?

It's been errata'd already. Well, sort of.

Originally quoted by Bruce Cordell, an ELH author

After talking this over with my co-author, we've decided to submit the following errata (it is not official unless it comes from wizards; we're just submitting this):

p 22, 2nd column, replace sentence “Instead, each time the psion achieves a new level, he gains 34 power points.” with: Each time the psion achieves a new level, he learns a new power of any power level that he can manifest (according to his new level) that is within his primary discipline.

p 58, Improved Manifestation, Benefit, add third paragraph: Additionally, you gain 19 power points when first taking this feat.

p 58, Improved Manifestation, Special, extend 2nd sentence (delete .): , and you gain a number of power points equal to your previous benefit + 2.

And, as a bonus for the psy warrior:

p 23, 2nd column, Bonus Feats, add feat to list after Spellcasting Harrier: Spell Knowledge
