is it worth it in Epic to use a tactic that stops them using normal melee attacks on you. Considering at Epic the enemy will likely operate with many attack options not just melee. I imagine Epic foes have ranged as well as melee ? This is for an obscure Stoneblessed Goliath Warden build I am working on. Basically Warden Hootch (Twin of Scar Ski Barbarian) has a tree sized Halberd and has fun with severe - 4/5 squres - and sometimes threatening reach to generate OA's. Plus mix's it up with Forms that "Auto Slow" in a 2 sqaure burst and knock enemy prone on a hit with World Serpent Grasp. Set up is this, feats used are: Polearm Gamle Knockback Swing World Serpent Grasp Sudden Roots Uses Daily forms to Auto slow. and "Controlling Weapon" to make the push from Knockback Swing 2 squares. Tactic: Hootch positions himself within 1 square of enemy every round by movement and Berserker Badge and Caiphon boots to minor action shift 1. Enemy start turn slowed and can really only attack him, most of time, so Defender role is still maintaned, so enemy he is doing this tactic on should be perhaps 2 to 4 per round. Sudden Roots also slows enemies that attack him from outside the burst 2 slow zones. When they attack him, he will Mark them and then ususllay minor shift back 1. Polearm Gamble comes in to play and he should get lots of OA, also has Encounter power for threatening reach, reach is about 3. And items and things to bring back threatening reach. This should generate about 2 to 4 OA's per round, unless they have epic means to get to other members of the party, if they wish as remember enemy is still marked. When the OA's proc: Then enemy is knocked prone, and pushed back 2 squares and also slowed. Look like fun ?
