A couple days ago, World of Warcraft starts to lag again, but in a way not consistent with normal server lag. It freezes the entire thing for a bit, then lets go. This happens a few times, but I attribute it to server lag though no-one else in the guild has this lag. Last night, the game freezes totally, which it’s never done before. The whole PC freezes. I reboot. Go back in, and the game freezes in about a half hour once more, and freezes the entire system.
I look in the even log, and see a string of errors on the disk, probably corresponding to the lag points in the game.
A lot ot Error 9 and Error 51:
The device, \Device\Ide\IdePort3, did not respond within the timeout period.
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation.
I tried to run disk checking stuff from the properties of the C: drive, but it crashed at about the 25% point on test 4 of 5 and did not complete. The drive does not report needing to be defragged.
Any suggestions or tools to fix this problem and make it stop?
