I've done both and both can be addicting and there are many similarities but there are obvious differences . I would argue that roleplaying is a much healthier activity roleplaying vs fantasy sports most often in roleplaying u meet often either online or somewhere with close friends etc. fantasy sports is usually once and and then its more of a competition where u aren't routing for your character etc but instead are routing for a 3rd party that you have no control over fantasy Sports is really just gambling (not judging) but most times it involves money. I have never roleplayed for money (played to enter a tournament but not expecting a prize Unlike MTG, Larping, roleplaying you don't have to worry about your star character/card/crafted sword getting lost for the season/suspended etc. Its really 2 bad that it gets mocked as 1/2 the host on espn are either retired players that were mostly average (the great ones who saved money don't work for espn)or people who have never played organized sports I would love to know the offices who talk more D&D/roleplaying than fantasy sports. Any outside of high tech computer programing watercooler talk is top shows over weekend, sports such as big games or amazing plays. I have never seen anyone display something on their desk related to roleplaying. Comics and super rare video game stuff such as the little statues you find at the mall
