Here is my suggestion for what he should do.   My suggestion is that he take over clan hare, snake and ox.  Figure out what the families are behind them and play them.  This means that he will be about equal in power to the great clans.  Make sure to add the families for those clans into the mix otherwise you have land but no armies.</blockquote>
