Angelina wasn't sure how long she sat there, eyes wide but unseeing, staring vacantly at the slightly flickering florescent bulb in the light fixture overhead. Slowly she reached up and touched her lips, trying to reconcile the warm physical contentment and satiation she felt with the bottomless void of dawning horror she felt emotionally. She couldn't process it. What had happened. What she'd felt. What she'd experienced. And just like her first night on emergency room, she sliced away the part of herself that was overwhelmed, the part that felt, and took stock. What had to happen right now? The body. She needed to get rid of Tituba's body. Panic bubbled in her hindbrain, rattling the bars of the cage she'd built around it. Panic, on steroids of guilt. She ignored it and stood up to look around. There was some luck. Despite the blood involved bloodthatsheDRANKohgodwhydidsheDRINKit?!?!, the floor wasn't stained. There was no camera at the corridor intersection the scene had played out in...undoubtedly Tituba had planned it that way beforeshe'ddiedbeforeshe'dKILLEDHER. She had resources. A gurney. A blanket. If another doctor encountered her, there could be problems...but anyone else would be very unlikely to interfere with her. The pieces assembled themselves in her head, forming a path towards her goal. Wrapped in that cold, icy resolve, she put the body of the woman, the thing, the...creature...who had attacked her and whom she had killed, on the gurney. She tucked a blanket over her, covering her face. Sadly perhaps, in a hospital the sight of a doctor wheeling a dead body along a corridor on a gurney was not so strange a sight as to occasion comment. Angelina went to the morgue...she could check the schedule and see where the empty drawers were. There was a schedule they filled them on...and unless there was a sudden glut of dead bodies in the near future, she could stow this body well ahead of it, and it should go undetected for some time while she figured out what the heck to do about it. The pain and horror and grief and guilt rattled again, pacing and snarling like a tiger. There'd be hell to pay later...but she'd deal with that when the time came.
