Message: <blockquote data-quote="KirayaTiDrekan" data-source="post: 6405058" data-attributes="member: 6755061">Till sums it up quite nicely.  The people in your herd are likely to be quite content in their role, even if they aren't fully aware of what that role is.Step Nine: Finishing TouchesThere are three numbers that we deal with at the end that are rated from 1 to 10 instead of 1 to 5.Humanity - Add your Conscience and Self-Control virtues together and record this as your starting Humanity rating.  The higher your humanity, the more in touch you are with what it was that made you human before you became a vampire.  The more you give in to your vampiric nature, the quicker your Humanity erodes away.  Also, as you lose Humanity, the more inhuman you will appear - paler skin, forgetting to breath, forgetting to blink, etc.  If your Humanity reaches 0, you are overcome by the beast within and become little more than a ravenous monster, unthinking, feeling nothing but thirst, and...a NPC.Willpower - Your Willpower is used for quite a few things, from keeping control of yourself when feeding to fighting the urge to flee from sunlight or flame, to mechanical things like rerolling a failed roll.  Willpower is a resource that can be spent and is replenished whenever you act in turn with your Nature.  Your beginning Willpower is equal to your Courage virtue.Blood Pool - We will determine this number during the Prelude.  Simply put, blood points are the amount of bloody you have in your system after having fed.  You lose one every night upon waking and they can be spent to power disciplines, to boost attributes, and to heal wounds.  The lower your blood points, however, the more prone you are to lose control while feeding.Finally, you have the opportunity to spend what are called Freebie Points to add to other numbers in the various other steps.  You can now raise an Ability above 3 if you desire and can boost everything else as well, though different aspects of the character cost varying amounts of Freebie Points.  You have 15 Freebie Points to spend.Freebie Point CostsAttributes - 5 points per rankAbilities - 2 points per rankDisciplines - 7 points per rankBackgrounds - 1 point per rankVirtues - 2 points per rankHumanity - 2 points per rankWillpower - 1 point per rankThere are also Merits, which cost freebie points, and flaws, which give you more freebie points.  There are far too many to list here, however.  They are grouped in broad categories of Physical, Mental, Social, and Supernatural.  If you are interested in them, come up with some ideas for a few quirks and traits and we'll see what merits and flaws might fit them.</blockquote>
