Charm Creation is possible, but not until you are far more experienced. Also keep in mind, that Solar Hero Form is still a Martial Art (although an easier form to learn, since it’s mainly brawling) and as such you will still need a Sifu to get beyond the basics, in this case we’ll say everything Charm from Solar Hero Form and higher. I’ll have to look the exactly how the rules for Charm creation works, I’ve never really tried it. I’m sure if we look around we can find Charms that other people have made. Also keep in mind that Solar Hero is all about damage and attack. You can always start learning another form like Mantis, which is all about Defense, then switch between the styles in combat. Heroic Mortals learning Terrestrial Martial Arts: First you need to gain an Essence Pool, so that you can activate your charms. Scroll of the Monk goes through the list of how it works. Years and years of meditation, being affected by Wyld Energy (and getting a few other interesting side affects too), or having Touch of Divinity Charm used by a Spirit, or Soul Enlightening Beneficence (or the less powerful Power Awarding Prana) by a Solar. There is also an Abyssal and Infernal version of this Charm, but you most likely don’t want that. Getting your Essence Pool will require finding someone who can use those Charms, and then convincing them why they should help you out. Once you get that you can start learning Terrestrial Styles. You can only learn from someone with Ess 3 and M Arts 5. Mortals: Terrestrial Only Dragon Blooded: Terrestrial, Celestial with difficulty Lunar: Terrestrial, Celestial Solar/Abyssal: All (Sidereal with difficulty) Sidereal: All So really anyone can teach you, they just need to take the Charms themselves. Why would a Solar take a Terr charm? Well Fire Dragon Form is pretty neat, I’d take it. But most likely you’ll be learning from an NPC. As for an Archer. Yes our Eclipse has a Mount and his best combat stats go towards the bow, but right now we don’t have anyone who has focused on the bow Charms wise. But I agree that Thrown was kind of created for the Night Caste. And that in a way you would be similar to another players fighting style. Other good ones for the Night are really playing up the combat based Athletics Charms, and Ebon Shadow Form M. Arts (the ninja style). But keep in mind that as of right now the only skills from the Night Caste group that anyone else has are: Dodge (just about everyone and for the most part high ranks), Awareness (highest anyone has is 2, no Charms) and Athletics (highest rank is 3, with one Charm). So if you just focus on noncombat Charms you be doing things that no one else can. Other skills we are missing: Dawn: Thrown Night: Stealth, Larceny Zenith: right now each skill is being used by someone, but the highest Performance we have is 2 Eclipse: Sail, and our highest Bureaucracy is 2 Twilight: Craft, Investigate Not to say you have to take these, I’m just showing you what we are missing. I can say that sooner or later, Investigate will become helpful, just because I haven’t been in a rpg game where it wasn’t helpful. And one last thing: If you have a picture of your character that you want to use in case I decide to make maps, post it up. I’m not sure if I’m going to make a Rogues gallery thread or not, it doesn’t seem necessary to me, but if you guys want one, we can make one no problem.
